You can ‘change’ the Mario Kart like the way you like

Image
We play the game (including the Mario Kart) following the direction that game developer wants. We just click the screen, take items and drive along a road. But have you ever thought about cracking the rules?     I’m sure that if you just sit down and play Mario Kart for an hour or more, you must feel bored about monotonous maps, limited items or etc. What you need is more strong items, more thrilling maps and customizing your own character. By cracking some rules, you can beat other players (actually harassing) and win the game very easily.   Cracking the rules By cracking the rules, you can maximize the satisfaction of the game. For example, you can annoying other players more easily by throwing countless turtle missiles. (like the image below)   It is not that hard thing to do, because games are made by coding tools. For example, when you want to play the Mario Kart in your own map, you just open the game development tool, extract the Mario Kart to the python (anyt...

How the wheels of a kart move individually - object oriented programming

Image
Have you ever pushed mini car toy in the kindergarten? When we push the car, we don’t control each of the wheels in the car frame. The force over the car is separated into the four part in the car that makes the car and four wheels move at the same time to the same direction.      I got a cool item from Nintendo Switch mall and it is the MarioKart (Mario is the character in the Nintendo games) and I can move this kart with the panel named Nintendo Switch with the game interface in the screen playing racing game with virtual sources and real physical kart on live.         The electric kart is composed of controlling module and signal acceptor and the four motors to control each wheel. motor has no ability to memorize the data from the controlling part. The temperate memorization happens in the controlling part accepting the physical signals from Nintendo Switch device.        The programm...

What stops AI karts from lagging in a racing game? - algorithm

Algorithm        When you play Mario Kart with AI, have you ever felt that AI seldom lag far behind and hold the position near the player? If you have, you have experienced ‘negative feedback effect’ of Mario Kart indirectly.     In many games, positive feedback and negative feedback are important factor in maintaining the balance of the game. Without these kinds of feedback, the game loses its interest and fun. Imagine that no matter how much you achieve there is no reward or profit in role-playing game, or that there is no way to close the gap between leading and trailing groups in a racing game. You will lose interest in the game and soon lose the motivation to play it.      Positive feedback and negative feedback exist to prevent such problem. By giving reward or profit when the player achieves something, the game gives the player the motivation and achievement, and by providing a way to fill the gap with leading groups when being ...

What makes a game feel friendly? - the color schemes behind Mario Kart

Image
Design The design elements seen in ‘Mario Kart Live – Home Circuit’ are the trademark colors of the original game ‘Super Mario Kart’ itself. So before taking a look at the design and visual build of the recently released Mario Kart, we need to analyze the main color and design schemes of the original game.   Color        The foundation of the Mario Kart Game lies in ‘opposites.’ Duo colors seen as the absolute opposite are known as ‘complementary colors.’ If two colors are facing each other on the color wheel – opposite as in polar opposite – they are coined as complementary.  Using color pallets with complementary colors gives the effect of making the object really jump out. Advertisements and television commercials commonly use these colors to further bring out statements and announce products. Complementary colors can be seen in Mario’s (the main character of the game) attire and the basic racetrack coloring. This makes Mario stand out from amongst the o...
